Mangaluru: Yenepoya University organizes cardic awarness programme

Mangaluru, Oct 26: The department of physiology, YMC, Yenepoya University organized cardiac awareness programme, ‘Protect your Heart’ at Government Muslim Residential School, Assai, for high school students on October 24.

Under the leadership of Dr Shobith Bangera, professor and head of physiology department. An interactive session was conducted by Anwar and Dr Ahrsia V F, which was attended by 70 students, covering pulse, blood pressure, hypertension and its complications, and preventive measures emphasizing healthy lifestyle choices and nutrition's role in heart health.

Fresh fruits were distributed to reinforce the importance of a balanced diet. Later, demonstration on BP recording was done by Dr Nabeel Beeran, Dr Shamaz C K, and Dr Zoya. Deepika, Vimala Shenoy and Deeksha provided support for the programme.

Manjunath Bhat, senior maths teacher, applauded the initiative, stating it would inspire students to adopt healthy habits for a healthy heart. This event focused on empowering the next generation to prioritize heart health.
