Udupi, Oct 26: Kaup MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty has announced that a Rs 13 crore proposal has been submitted for the reconstruction of the severely damaged Katapadi-Shirva state highway, which has suffered extensive wear due to rain and natural calamities.
The proposal requests Rs 6 crores from the Central Government's CRF fund and Rs 7 crores from the State Government's Public Works Department. Despite having undergone repairs four to five times, the road has deteriorated significantly, prompting this new initiative.
The tender process is currently underway following the Central Government’s approval of Rs 6 crores. The request for Rs 7 crores from the State Government is pending approval. MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty stated, “The reconstruction work will commence soon.”
