Trailer of Kannada movie 'Kathe Mugidhidhe' launched in Dubai, advance ticket sales begin

Karama, Oct 27: The trailer for the Kannada film ‘Kathe Mugidhidhe,’ with the tagline "Aarambada Munna," premiered in Dubai on October 25 at Winny's Restaurant Banquet Hall, Karama. Key attendees included Walter Nandalike, editor-in-chief of Daijiworld Media, along with James Mendonca, president of Mangalore Konkans; Shashidhar Nagarajappa, president of Karnataka Sangha; Sudarshan Hegde, president of Amchegele Friends; and actor-director Pradeep Barboza Paladka. The film’s narrative showcases the talent of professional artists and promises a distinctive cinematic experience.

Other dignitaries present included Sugandhraj Bekal, president of Maghadeepa Sanskratika Samithi, and Rajesh Kuthar from Gammath Kalavider, alongside members of Sanghun Mughdana and a TikTok group. Shodhan Prasad of Sandhya Creations Overseas Movies, the distributor for ‘Kathe Mugidhidhe,’ warmly welcomed attendees on stage with floral bouquets. A one-minute prayer and traditional lamp-lighting ceremony marked the program's commencement. Director Pradeep Barboza then discussed the film's creative journey and production details.

 

 

In an industry first, ‘Kathe Mugidhidhe’ will screen six shows on its opening day, reflecting the film’s anticipated popularity. Walter Nandalike launched the trailer, praising its high production quality. He encouraged UAE Kannadigas to support the film and addressed mental health, linking it to the entertainment and pharmaceutical industries. He also spoke on Daijiworld Studio’s support for filmmakers through advanced digital resources.

James Mendonca and Shashidhar Nagarajappa expressed support for the film, with Shashidhar pledging his team’s help in promoting the movie through Kannada Pata Shale and Karnataka Sangha Dubai. Sudarshan Hegde added his support through Amchegele Friends, recognizing the contributions of talented filmmakers like Pradeep Barboza.

Produced by Dr Frank Fernandes under Ferns Movie International, ‘Kathe Mugidhidhe’ stars Pradeep Barboza alongside a talented ensemble known for their work in Kannada and Tulu films. The film, based on a story by Konkani writer Dolphy Cascia and featuring dialogues by Raghu Rattadyi, also includes performances by Deepak Paladka, Violet D'Souza, Mellu Valencia, Ramairo, Stany Bela, and child artistes Aman Karkera, Ritwik, Devansh, Sanvy, and Akshan.

At the event, Shodhan Prasad announced ticket prices and showtimes. James Mendonca and Sudarshan Hegde led by purchasing a large share of tickets, while additional sales by the TikTok and Konkani groups brought sales to over 60% capacity. Due to high demand, additional shows are being planned.

‘Kathe Mugidhidhe’ is set to premiere on November 17 at Alliance Française Theater, Oud Metha, Dubai, with showtimes at 10:30 am, 12:30 pm, 2:15 pm, 3:45 pm, 5:15 pm, and 7:00 pm. Sandhya Creations Overseas Movies will distribute the film across the Gulf and other overseas markets.

Pradeep Barboza concluded the event with a vote of thanks, acknowledging each guest and well-wisher. Special thanks were given to Dainy D'Souza and Deepak Paladka, who played key roles in the movie's coordination and marketing efforts. The evening concluded with a buffet dinner accompanied by live music.
