Bhatkal: Kattaveer Team Wins Labbaik Nawayath Kabaddi Tournament

Bhatkal, Dec 5: Kattaveer team won the Labbaik Nawayath district level Kabaddi tournament by 14 points defeating Labbaik Nawayath team in the final match held here on Sunday December 4.

Kattaveer defeated Cosmos and Labbaik Nawayath won against Parashuram in the semi finals to qualify for the finals. The Cosmos and Parashuram stood at third and fourth place respectively.

DYSP Narayan and TMC president Inayatullah Shabandari were chief guests at the prize distribution ceremony. Both guests congratulated the winners in their address.

A 24 carat gold coin sponsored by Gold House was used for the toss, which was won by Kattaveer team. Special mementoes were presented to all Mangalorean umpires who conducted the game.

Atiq-ur-Rahman compered and Althaf Kharoori delivered the vote of thanks. Around 7000 spectators witnessed the finals under tight security.

CPI Shivprakash and convener of the tourney Abdul Rawoof Naity among others were present at the occasion.

The Best Players of the tourney were:
Best rider: Hammad of Labbaik Nawayath
Best catcher: Manoj Naik of Parashuram
Best All-rounder: Nagraj of Kattaveer
