Udupi, Oct 28: The poster for Shatachandikayaga and Brahmamandala Seva, scheduled from December 9 to December 15, was released at the Sri Mahishamardini temple’s auditorium, on October 26.
Sri Vidyavallabha Tirtha Swamiji of Kaniyoor Matha blessed the occasion, wishing for the successful completion of the yaga, and said, “A special relationship exists between the Sri Mahishamardini Temple in Bailoor, Udupi and the Sri Krishna Math of Udupi. Devotees who actively participate in the temple’s development and religious events contribute to the divine energy and spiritual strength, which, in turn, brings prosperity and blessings to the entire community. The Shatachandika Yaga, a significant religious ritual, is believed to bring timely rains and good harvests, ensuring the well-being of all living beings.”
Yashpal A Suvarna, Udupi MLA, addressed the gathering, promising efforts to secure grants from the government, the city council, and the urban development authority for the temple's religious activities and for the development of the temple pond.
Mattar Ratnakar Hegde, president Shatachandikayaga committee, stated that, “The Brahma Mandala Pooja will be performed at the shrine of Lord Nagadeva. For the first time, a special Durga Aarti will be conducted by 1,000 women at the shrine of the goddess, and 100 devotees will participate in the Shatachandika Yaga Sankalpa Puja.” The Swamiji bestowed blessings on all participating devotees.
Narayan Das Udupa, secretary welcomed the gathering. Durgadas delivered the vote of thanks. Praveen Kumar Bailoor compered the programme.
President of the Badagubettu Credit Co-operative Society B Jayakar Shetty Indrali, temple priest K S Krishnamurthy, treasurer Sudarshan Sherigar, Pavitrapani Srinivas Acharya, chief priest Varadaraj Bhat, city council member Krishnarao Kodancha, and the financial committee coordinator Ramesh Shetty Kallatturu, were present on the occasion.
