Mangalore, Dec 6: ‘Bhaktik Sanz’, a devotional cultural evening, was organized by Young Christian Students (YCS) of St Joseph the Worker’s parish, Vamanjoor, on Sunday December 5, to mark their 13th anniversary and the 125th anniversary of Mangalore diocese.

It was a programme of the youth, by the youth, for all the people to show their love, care, and concern towards their religion as well as the Catholic church.

Vamanjoor assistant parish priest Fr Jesudas D’Costa and YCS/YSM Mangalore diocesan director Fr Ronald D’Souza inaugurated the programme at 4.30 pm on Sunday.

There was an overwhelming response from an audience of over 800 for the nine teams participating in the various competitions, skits, singing, and dance.

The YCS troupes of various parishes brought out themes from the Bible such as the ‘Prodigal Son’, ‘Lost Sheep’, and ‘From Darkness to New Life’, in the form of skits.

Vamanjoor parish priest Fr Joseph Cardoza, Fr Jesudas D’Costa, Sandesha Foundation director Fr Valerian Mendonca,  Fr Ronald D’Souza,  YCS / YSM Udupi deanery director Fr Edwin D’Souza,  Vamanjoor parish council vice-president  Roshan Kamath, ZP member Wilfred Crasta Neermarga, Vamanjoor YCS animator Sr Lenita, were present at the dais.

The past presidents of Vamanjoor YCS/YSM were felicitated on the same occasion.

Competitions were also held in singing devotional hymns. The devotional singers of Vamanjoor parish and Kulshekar parish were the overall winners.

Vamanjoor YCS unit president Fernson Pinto welcomed the gathering.  YCS member Clavia proposed the vote of thanks.

Bhaktik Sanz was a success with the support and co-operation of many contributors.
