Udupi, Dec 6: BJP district unit general secretary, Tingale Vikramarjuna Hegde, has termed the celebration of Bellary Rural assembly constituency bypoll success of independent candidate, Sriramulu, by the JD(S) as if it is its own, as ridiculous. “The JD(S) is acting like prodigal Uttara Kumara by running away from the election scene by not fielding its candidate, and now claiming credit and being proud at the victory which does not belong to it,” he commented.

He noted that JD(S) state president, H D Kumaraswamy, had been raising hue and cry since the last three years about Bellary district being in the grip of goondaism let loose by Reddys and Sriramulu. “Kumaraswamy, who is covered by corruption from tip to toe, has suddenly been finding that Sriramulu has a clean image.  By exulting at Sriramulu’s victory at its office, the party has given ample evidence to its policy of opportunistic politics,” he said in a press release.

He advised the JD(S) district president to concentrate his efforts towards securing at least four-digit votes for his party in the coming election instead of wasting time in criticizing BJP, and talk about other parties only after achieving this goal.
