Bantwal, Oct 29: An elderly car driver, who was injured in a bike collision while crossing the road, succumbed to breathing complications today at Tumbe.
The deceased has been identified as Boja Moolya (62), an Ambassador car driver and a resident of Kanjattur, Kallige village.
On October 11, around 7 pm, Boja Moolya had parked his car along the national highway to buy chicken and was crossing the road to reach a chicken stall in Talapady when a bike collided with him. He sustained a leg injury and was admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru. A case regarding the accident was registered at the Melkar Traffic Police Station on October 12.
Seven days after the accident, Boja Moolya was discharged from the hospital and returned home. Nineteen days later, he began experiencing breathing difficulties at home and was immediately taken to a private hospital in Tumbe. However, treatment efforts were unsuccessful, and he passed away today, according to family sources.
The traffic police station had already registered a complaint regarding the accident, and SI Suthesh was present during the post-mortem examination.
