High court grants six-week interim bail to actor Darshan for surgery

Bengaluru, Oct 30: The high court granted six weeks of interim bail to jailed actor Darshan Thoogudeepa on Wednesday, allowing him to undergo surgery. Darshan, accused in the Renukaswamy murder case, had filed for interim bail citing medical needs, which was approved by Justice S Vishwajith Shetty.

The single-judge bench also noted that Darshan’s petition for regular bail, challenging the trial court's denial, remains pending before the high court. Arguments regarding the interim bail were heard on October 28, with senior advocate S Nagesh representing Darshan and state public prosecutor P Prasanna Kumar arguing for the prosecution.

Darshan, arrested on June 11 and held in Ballari prison, sought bail on medical grounds with an application filed on September 21. The actor’s health reports, submitted by doctors at Ballari Central Prison and Ballari government hospital, recommended surgery for his spine and feet issues.

During the hearing, Nagesh argued for permission to have Darshan treated at Apollo Hospital, Mysuru, at his own expense. Meanwhile, Prosecutor Kumar opposed the plea, arguing for treatment in a government hospital after evaluation by a medical board. The high court, however, granted interim bail, allowing Darshan to proceed with the surgery.

Renukaswamy, a 33-year-old auto-driver, was found dead on June 9. Authorities allege he was fatally injured in an assault prompted by Darshan, who reportedly called on fans to confront Renukaswamy over derogatory remarks made online against his partner, Pavithra Gowda.

Darshan will not be punished for murder. He did not have any intention of murdering. He did not have a weapon which was supposed to be used for a murder. And he did not have a solid motive for the murder. In fact Darshan wanted to beat him, scare him and warn him not to continue harassing the lady. Unfortunately one hit took the victim's life. He will be sentenced for culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

Tomorrow all murderers will come out with same argument "I did not want to stab him, but hit him accidentally. I did not want to kill him, just wanted to give him one shot. I was driving at 150 KM, pedestrian came on road accidentally, so I hit him. I did not want to strangulate him, but just played with pillow"

IF HE DOESNT UNDERGO SURGERY AND MAKES A FAKE CLAIM WHAT HAPPENS ---- Why no one is talking of quick trials -- finish this case quickly -- wasting time on bail matters --back pain -- medical etc. etc. -- all lower income earning criminals don't have such privileges -- ---- --What about the poor man who suffered and hid family ---- Police -- other related authorities and Prosecution can make appeals ---- for quick trial --fast track-- --- Police had made a brilliant investigation and watertight case -- Electronic evidence -- -- mobile towers -- -- finger prints -- other evidence -- start to finish of this gruesome torture and murder -- The chronology as famously said ---- THE most i important motive --who had a motive to do the gruesome acts-- Darshan was leading a double life in his martial relationship -- this itself was condemnable --but strangely all OK -- for certain persons --
