Mangalore: Police Intensify Search for Missing Dalit Woman

Mangalore, Dec 7: The city police on Monday December 5, intensified investigations into the case of missing Dalit woman Sunita, who was residing at Tokrabattu in Harekala village, near here. Sunita reportedly went missing on November 24, 2011.  Konaje police registered a case in this regard on November 27, 2011.

She lived in a hut located on Tokrabettu hillock along with her three daughters.  Her husband Vishwanath had died seven years ago after falling from a palm tree.  The daughters are in the care of their grandmother.

Konaje police led by sub-inspector Shivaprakash arrived at the spot with the canine squad that traced Sunita’s tracks to Harekala ferry point at Netravati River. They suspect there are chances of her boarding a ferry for her onward journey.
