Bantwal: Two arrested in connection with house, Anganwadi theft cases

Bantwal, Oct 30: In connection with cases of theft from a house and an anganwadi, two accused were arrested at Maani Junction in Maani village, Bantwal taluk, on Oct 29 by a crime team led by Vittal Police Station Inspector H E Nagaraj.

The arrested individuals are Mohammad Riaz Hasanabba (38), son of Hasanabba, resident of Dharmanagar in Boliyar village, Ullal taluk, and Mohammad Intiyaz (38), son of Abdul Rahiman, resident of Halekote in Ullal taluk.

Following an investigation into the theft cases within the Vittal police jurisdiction, the police were successful in tracking and apprehending the accused. During interrogation, the accused admitted their involvement in house thefts in Mittur and Kodaje areas under Vittal station jurisdiction, as well as in a school and anganwadi theft case under the jurisdiction of Puttur City Police Station.

The police recovered items from the accused valued at Rs 1.35 lac, including gas cylinders and household items, along with an autorickshaw used in the thefts, worth Rs 1.5 lac. The total value of the recovered items is estimated at Rs 2.85 lac. Police revealed that the primary accused, Mohammad Riaz Hasanabba, also has theft cases registered against him at Kumble Police Station in Kerala and at Mangaluru City and Konaje Police Stations.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of Dakshina Kannada district superintendent of police Yathish N IPS and additional superintendent of police Rajendra D S. The team led by Bantwal sub-division deputy superintendent of police S Vijay Prasad and Vittal police station inspector Nagaraj H E included sub-inspectors Vidya K J, Ratnakumar, Kaushik, and staff members Uday Rai, Radhakrishna, Raksheet Rai, Sridhar CS, Krishna Naik, Gadigappa Kallur, Shankar Shashi, Manoj, Satish, as well as technical staff Sampath and Divakar.

    Congratulations to Police for catching these Petty chors and items.Mostly thieves do takeaway costly things ,here they tookaway daily small cooking items etc.From poor ,school etc.Now let them cook inside jail .keep them there for long term.
