Bengaluru, Oct 31: In a timely gesture for Deepavali, the central government has unveiled an exciting offer for Bengaluru consumers, providing access to affordable essentials through the reintroduction of Bharat Brand 2.0. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial strain caused by rising prices, especially as the festive season approaches.
As prices of everyday commodities have surged, the government’s move is a welcome relief for many households. Previously paused during the Lok Sabha elections, the Bharat Brand is now back, featuring not just rice, but also wheat flour and lentils—available for purchase starting from Thursday, October 31, in Bengaluru.
With inflation weighing heavily on consumers, this initiative is part of a broader strategy by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution to ensure affordability. Under Bharat Brand 2.0, rice is now priced at Rs 34 per kilo, up from Rs 29, while wheat flour is set at Rs 30, chickpeas at Rs 70 and moong beans at Rs 107.
