Mangaluru: Pedestrian killed as tempo truck crashes while avoiding stalled bus

Mangaluru, Oct 31: In a tragic accident on National Highway 66 in Adankudru, a tempo truck lost control while swerving to avoid a stalled KSRTC bus, resulting in the death of a pedestrian.

The incident occurred in the afternoon when 64-year-old Adam from Thumbe Rottigudda was getting off the bus.

The tempo, loaded with interlock bricks, veered left and struck Adam as he attempted to board another bus. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Following the impact, the tempo also collided with a parked electric vehicle before overturning.

At the time, children were inside the electric vehicle while the driver was away at a nearby shop. Fortunately, the children were unharmed.

The Mangaluru South Traffic Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
