Kundapur, Nov 1: "Kannada is the essence of Karnataka's life and the lifeline of Kannadigas. Kundapur has made a unique contribution to Karnataka's unification and has greatly enriched the fields of art, culture, and literature," said Kundapur assistant commissioner Maheshchandra K. He delivered this message after hoisting the flag during Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations at Gandhi Maidan on Friday, November 1.
Kundapur MLA Kiran Kumar Kodgi remarked that Kannada should not merely be seen as a language; it is a deeply embedded culture within us.
The event was attended by DySP Belliappa K U, tahsildar Mallikarjun, taluk health officer Dr Premananda, taluk education officer Shobha Shetty, municipality chief officer Anand J, youth services and sports officer Kusumakar Shetty, deputy tahsildar Vinay, municipality vice-president Vanita Billava, members Devaki Sannayya, Santosh Kumar Shetty, Sridhar Sheregar, Sandeep Kharvi, former vice-president Rajesh Kaveri, social welfare department Manager Ramesh Kulal, TP manager Ramachandra Manya, supervisors from the Women and Child Welfare Department, and various other department representatives.
Teacher Chandrashekhar Beejadi emceed the event. St Mary's School's physical education teacher Michael Furtado performed the Kannada anthem Hacchevu Kannada Da Deepa on the saxophone. VKR School students sang the national anthem, and Venkatramana School students sang the state anthem. The Kannada-language parade, led by SI Prasad, featured an impressive drill performance by the police.
