Mangaluru: CCB police seize hydro weed ganja, arrest peddler

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Nov 1: In an effort to make Mangaluru drug-free, the Mangaluru Central Crime Branch (CCB) police conducted an operation that led to the arrest of an individual accused of supplying narcotics to the city from abroad. During the operation, the police successfully seized Rs 30 lac worth of hydro weed ganja, 2.5 kg of regular ganja, and other items.

After receiving reliable information about the transportation and sale of the banned hydro weed ganja in Mangaluru, CCB officials targeted the Kudroli area, where the accused was allegedly selling the narcotic substances to the public and students.

The arrested individual has been identified as H Mohammad Hafeez (23), son of H Adram, a resident of Haradi House, near Haradi Government School, Puttur Taluk. His current address is Flat No. 602, A Block, K2 Apartment, near Chombugudde Mosque, Thokkottu, Mangaluru.

The police seized 300 grams of hydro weed ganja valued at Rs 30 lac, 2.5 kg of ganja worth Rs 75,000, a mobile phone, and a digital weighing scale from Hafeez. The total value of the confiscated items is estimated to be Rs 30,85,500. A case has been registered at the Mangaluru North Police Station regarding this matter. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the hydro weed ganja was brought from Thailand.

It is suspected that multiple individuals are involved in this illegal drug trade, and efforts to track them down are ongoing.

The operation to detect the sale and transportation of hydro weed ganja was conducted under the guidance of police commissioner Anupam Agrawal and directed by deputy commissioners Siddharth Goyal and B P Dinesh Kumar. The CCB unit, led by ACP Manoj Kumar Naik, included inspectors Shyam Sundar H M and PSI Sharanappa Bhandari, along with other personnel from the unit.

Wow, look at you playing detective! It's cute how you think shifting blame from Kudroli to other areas makes your argument any stronger. Newsflash: Puttur or Thokkotu, it doesn’t change the fact that some people just can’t resist using Mangalore as their personal smuggling ground. Maybe instead of pointing fingers, you should focus on keeping your own neighborhood clean!

Absolutely not, I’m not from Kudroli! But I do have a few friends from there who are educated, well-settled, and even 5-time namazis! Clearly, ‘understanding’ is a superpower I somehow missed at the superhero academy. Thanks for the enlightening insight! Next time, I’ll bring my cape and see if that helps!
