Kadaba, Nov 3: Residents blocked the Kadaba-Panja road on Saturday following the tragic death of a scooty rider, urging authorities to remove all dangerously leaning roadside trees and to provide government compensation to the victim’s family.

The public prevented the fallen tree from being removed from the road, demanding the deputy commissioner arrive on-site. The incident halted traffic on the Kadaba-Panja highway for over two and a half hours.

Panja zonal forest officer Sandhya met with the protesters and assured that dangerous trees would be removed within a year and that appropriate compensation for the victim’s family would be provided by the government. Kadaba sub-inspector Abhinandan M S and personnel from the forest department were also present.

Local leaders, including Krishna Shetty Kadaba, Fazal Kodimbala, Raghurama Naik Kukkerebettu, Seetharama Gowda K, Aneesh Lobo, Balakrishna D K, Jayantha K, Keshava Berike, Ramanna Jaltharu, Mohana Kodimbala, and Radhakrishna Kolpe, led the protest.

On the morning of Saturday, November 2, Seetharama Gowda, a resident of Edamangala, tragically lost his life on the Kadaba-Panja road when a tree fell on him as he was riding his scooty.

It is important to dismiss the Government officials who are responsible (including forest)and not only releasing peanuts as compensation.
