Mangaluru, Nov 4: 'Make your life a masterpiece and connect to the world with skill and intelligence'. Inspired by these thought-provoking words, St Agnes School (CBSE), Bendur, organized an insightful career guidance session for grade X students on October 30. Recognizing that guidance is essential to shaping a strong career path, this session aimed to empower students in their academic and career development.
The programme opened with a soulful prayer song by grade X students, setting a reflective tone for the session. Expert faculty members from St Agnes PU College and Vividya Coaching Centre served as resource persons, sharing their expertise on various academic streams and career pathways, helping students gain clarity and confidence in making informed choices.
Olivia Patrao, an economics faculty member, introduced the arts and humanities stream as well as commerce stream. She provided valuable insights into the diverse courses, subject options, and career opportunities within this field. Her session also included a discussion on various subject combinations, giving students a comprehensive understanding of possible career avenues.
Ashwin, a lecturer in electronics, outlined the science stream, including course details, placement opportunities, and competitive exams. He encouraged students to focus on prestigious goals, such as entering the IITs, and conducted thought-provoking activities that enhanced the session's interactivity.
Additionally, Mangesh, a lecturer in physics, and Ramnath from Vividya Institute discussed their collaboration with St Agnes PU College. They explained their coaching center’s goal of equipping students for NEET and JEE exams, sharing valuable math techniques for tackling challenging problems, and offering tips on effective preparation strategies.
The session was highly informative, and students’ enthusiastic participation made it a resounding success. Daphne D’Souza compered the event, while head girl Joanna Neola Pereira expressed heartfelt gratitude in her vote of thanks, appreciating the faculty from St Agnes PU College and Vividya Coaching Centre for their expert guidance, the principal and staff for their steadfast support, and the students for their active involvement.
