Udupi, Nov 4: National award-winning director Chethan Mundadi is set to bring a new film to movie enthusiasts. The Tulu movie, titled Digil (Fear), is his latest venture.
Chethan will present the story of Jumadi Bunta Daiva, a revered spirit in Tulunadu, and an eunuch. He described Digil as a story with a fresh perspective, stating, “Digil tells the tale of a real event. It is a story of Tulunadu’s heritage, yet one that no one has heard before.”
The film is being produced in Tulu, Kannada, and Malayalam, with filming locations including Beltangady, Balanja, Punjalakatte, Madyantharu in Dakshina Kannada district, and Bengaluru. With shooting completed, the team is currently focused on dubbing. The movie is expected to release in January 2025.
Digil is produced by Mysuru Ramesh and Ravishankar Pai under the banners Ram Movies and MRP Entertainment. The main cast features Chethan Rai Mani, Shobha Shetty, Agnishakshi fame Amit Rao, and Ramesh Rai Kukkuvalli.
Chethan Mundadi directs the movie, while dialogues are co-written by Chethan and H K Nainaad. Manikant Kadri has composed the music, and Padmanabhan Mani has handled the cinematography.
