Mangaluru, Nov 4: The inauguration of the first batch of the BSc nursing programme was held at Milagres College of Nursing, a unit of the Milagres Housing and Educational Society, on Monday, November 4.
Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, correspondent of Milagres Educational Institutions, blessed the nursing college and hostel.
Speaking on the occasion, Sr Aileen Mathias, superior of Olavinahalli, stated, “Starting a college of nursing is no easy task. Milagres Institution has taken on a herculean effort to embark on this new venture. Nursing is a noble profession, and this remarkable journey will be filled with challenges and opportunities for growth.”
She further added, “Nursing is not just a job; it is a commitment to serve others and provide comfort and care in times of need. The profession you have chosen is both demanding and fulfilling, capable of making a significant difference in the lives of patients and their families.”
The event was attended by Fr Uday Fernandes, principal of Milagres Central School; Melvyn Vaz, principal of Milagres PU College; Victoria, vice principal of Milagres College of Nursing; and staff member Irene Alvares, among others.
Fr Bonaventure Nazareth welcomed the gathering, Fr Michael Santhumayor, principal of Milagres Degree College, proposed the vote of thanks, and Glancia Fernandes compered the event.
