Sandur (Ballari), Nov 7: In a sharp rejoinder to Maharashtra BJP’s advertisement campaign lampooning the guarantees of Congress in Karnataka saying, ‘Vaada diya, Dhokhaa diya’, Chief Minister Suddaramaiah on Thursday said his government has ‘Vaada diya, Poora Kiya’, and said BJP was misleading people with its false campaign.
Addressing an election rally at Sandur, he said BJP is a ‘factory of falsehood’ and has not kept its promises to the people whether in Karnataka or those by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the last ten years.
“We have delivered on all our electoral promises,” he said the BJP in Maharashtra is falsely claiming that women are not provided with free bus travel as promised in the guarantee.
“Women in Karnataka are benefiting from the free bus travel in all government buses throughout the State. Women are benefiting from the monthly payment of Rs 2,000, which are credited into the bank accounts of women every month under Gruhalakshmi. The Gruhajyothi guarantee benefits all domestic household up to 200 units free power. The unemployed graduates and diploma holders are paid monthly allowance,” he said.
Lashing out at BJP for spending crores of rupees on advertisements with false and bogus claims, Siddaramaiah asked the BJP to explain what happened to Modi’s promise of crediting Rs 15 lakh into the bank accounts of individuals, doubling of income of farmers, creation of 2 crore jobs annually and other promise.
“What happened to Modi’s promise of ushering in Acche Din?” he asked and demanded the BJP to answer why the Rs 54 lakh crore debt burden in 2014 has now jumped to Rs 185 lakh crore.
The Chief Minister said the Congress MP E Thukaram had worked for the development of the Sandur assembly constituency before being elected to Lok Sabha and his daughter Annapoorna, the Congress candidate, will carry forward the work.
Siddaramaiah lampooned Modi for his slogan ‘Naa Khaavoonga, Naa Khaane Doonga’ and asked BJP to explain why Janardhana Reddy, who had been held guilty by the courts in the mining scam, is admitted into the party. “Neither Modi nor BJP has any moral right to speak about corruption,” he said.
