Mangalore: Poojary Distributes Fruits on Sonia’s Birthday

Mangalore, Dec 10: Former union minister, Janardhana Poojary, arranged distribution of fruits to inmates of several Ashrams in the city on Friday, to celebrate the birthday of national president of Congress and UPA chairperson,  Sonia Gandhi.

He visited Jeppu St Joseph Prashant Nivas, St Antony Ashram, Abhayashraya in Konaje Asaigoli, Saanidhya in Shaktinagar, Yatim Khana in Bunder, G S Home for the Aged in Kodialbail, and Ashraya managed by KMC Attavar.


Congress activists visited these places and handed over fruits to the inmates. Leaders, A C Bhandary, Haririshna Bantwal, Suresh Ballal, Sanjeeva Moily, Corporators, Lancelot Pinto, Navin D’Souza, Appilata, Jacinta Vijaya Alfred, Gulzara Banu, and J Nagendra Kumar, youth Congress south zone president, Pravinchandra Alva, Arun Coelho, T K Sudhir, Dennis D’Silva, Mohan Shetty, Karunakar Shetty, Mohan Alva, Sadashiva Amin and others participated in the programme.

Poojary said that the party workers have been celebrating Sonia’s birthday in this manner since the last 13 years. He expressed faith that Sonia has the capability to continue the farsighted programmes former Primme Miniser, Indira Gandhi, had envisaged. “Sonia Gandhi has been working strenuously for the overall development of our country. People of the country wish that she will serve the country forever,” he said.
