Shiggaon (Haveri), Nov 9: Senior BJP leader Basavaraj Patil Yatnal on Saturday claimed that the BJP will make whole of India into a laboratory of Sanatana Hinduism.

Speaking at an election campaign rally in Dundashi on behalf of Shiggaon BJP candidate Bharat Bommai on Saturday, he asked people to vote for BJP without any doubt considering the development work done by Basavaraj Bommai as the chief minister.

“To protect their religion and country, Hindus must unite. They must teach Congress a lesson by ensuring Bharat Bommai's victory,” he said. "Have Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar said anything new apart from their guarantee schemes? In Dundashi, 19 acres of land have been given as Waqf property. For how many more years will you keep talking about Indira Gandhi? Will you keep listening to Rahul Gandhi’s absurd statements like I will set up a 'jalebi factory' or I will extract gold from potatoes?", Yatnal asked.

The senior BJP leader known for his controversial remarks against BJP when the party was in power said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has brought substantial improvements over the past ten years and peace has been established in Kashmir. ‘”Former prime minister Manmohan Singh bowed down to Sonia Gandhi, while our prime minister declared himself as a 'pradhan sevak' who does not expect anyone to bow to him. When Basavaraj Bommai became the CM, he stated he was not a 'chief minister' but a common man,” the BJP leader said.

Wading into the Wakf land issue, he said: “See how dangerous the Waqf Act is. Even with a 30 per cent population, they ensure none of our people become legislators."

Yatnal pointed out that during BJP tenure, he did not want a ministerial post but fought against his own government for the 2A reservation for the Panchamasali community. Basavaraj Bommai, as CM, provided a reservation under category 2D, but this government has not implemented it.

Former chief minister Basavaraj Bommai and former minister Araga Jnanendra were present.

So, is BJP a religion conversion party or a political party??????…….Then why did you take a constitutional oath to serve people of all religion as people’s servant which is completely different than this statement???…This public statement of your’s is anti constitutional, communal and punishable. You have to give people the account of tax money you collected for welfare of people and state. People did not give thier tax money for your double engine development of converting india into Sanatan dharma.
