Mangalore, Dec 10: On Friday December 9, three vehicles were involved with a serial accident near Pavanje Bridge on national highway 66.  In the accident, a person suffered serious injuries.

A tipper truck, a pick up tempo, and an express bus were involved with this accident. Reportedly, the driver of a pickup truck carrying materials to a plywood factory in Bykampady  had to apply brakes immediately, as the tipper truck in front, which was moving to Mangalore,  stopped abruptly. An express bus moving from Udupi to the city, which was following the tempo, hit the tempo. As a result, the tempo moved ahead and hit the tipper.

Ibrahim (43), owner-cum-driver of the tempo, suffered serious injuries as a result. He has been admitted into a hospital in the city.

Traffic block occurred at the spot for over 30 minutes, as express buses continued their efforts to sneak in the small gap and rush towards their destinations. A case was registered by Suratkal police. The policemen said that an accident occurred between an express bus and a car at the same spot a little while later.
