Udupi, Nov 10: The Udupi branch of MCC Bank Ltd was officially relocated to its new premises on the ground floor of Sri Shivadhama Commercial, behind Diana Hotel, near Bethel Pentecostal Church, Ajjarkadu Park Road, Udupi, on Sunday, November 10, for the convenience of its customers.
The inauguration was led by chairman "Sahakara Ratna" Anil Lobo, with Fr Charles Menezes, parish priest of Mother of Sorrows Church, Udupi, blessing the new premises. Sr Jyothi D'Souza, superior of St Cecily’s Convent, Udupi, served as the chief guest, while city municipal council president Prabhakar Poojary, advocate Mohammed Iqbal, and businessman Roshan Shetty were guests of honor. The safe room was inaugurated by Sr Jyothi D'Souza.
In his presidential address, Anil Lobo highlighted the branch's move to a more accessible location with parking facilities and expressed gratitude for the customers' support over the past 22 years. He noted the branch's growth, with deposits increasing from Rs 7 crore in 2018 to Rs 26 crore, attributed to customer trust. He also announced the bank's technological advancements, including upcoming UPI and GPay implementations and an upgraded mobile app by March 2025 for seamless banking.
Fr Charles Menezes congratulated the team for enhancing customer convenience, while Sr Jyothi D'Souza praised the management's commitment to a customer-friendly environment. Prabhakar Poojary unveiled the MCC Bank Bulletin and was later honored, along with editor Dr Gerald Pinto and sub-editor Sherry Ashna Gangera.
Mohammed Iqbal commended the bank's services, and Roshan Shetty extended his best wishes. The event also included the distribution of Deepavali group photo contest prizes and felicitations for institutions and individuals excelling in various fields. Customers celebrating birthdays in the past year were also honored.
T N Amin, owner of the new premises, and civil engineer Karthik Kiran were acknowledged for their contributions. General manager Sunil Menezes introduced the branch staff, emphasizing teamwork for growth.
Directors Elroy Kiran Crasto, Vincent Lasrado, Joseph Anil Patrao, J P Rodrigues, Roshan D'Souza, Herald John Monteiro, David D'Souza, Melwyn Aquinas Vas, Irene Rebello, Sushanth Saldanha, and Felix D'Cruz, along with deputy general manager Raj F Menezes, attended the event.
Dr Gerald Pinto welcomed the gathering, Ancilla Fernandes and team led the prayer song, and branch manager Pradeep D'Souza delivered the vote of thanks. The event was compered by Steevan Colaco.
