Udupi, Dec 11:  Under the aegis of Karnataka State Tailors Association a mega convention and Government pension scheme cards distribution ceremony was held at Ammanni Ramanna shetty hall on Saturday December 10.

MLA Raghupati Bhat inaugurated the programme. Speaking on the occasion he said that the united efforts of association members has finally paid off and they have succeeded in acquiring the pension scheme.

The BJP-led state government has alloted Rs 20 crore for unorganized labours, he informed and also assured that the Government will set up separate board for tailors through which housing, health and many more schemes will be implemented for them, he added.

154 pension scheme cards were distributed to the members of state tailors association on the occasion.
Abdul Khader, president of the District tailers association, MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary, ZP president Katpady Shankar Poojary, industrialist Pramod Madwaraj, District labour officer K G Johnson, KSTA state committee secretary  K Vittal Shetty, state committee member K B Nagaraj and District secretary Bandimath Shivaram Acharya among others were present.
