Mangaluru, Nov 14: St Agnes School (CBSE) celebrated Children’s Day on November 14 with a vibrant and joyous atmosphere that filled the campus with exuberance and laughter.
The day began with an energetic welcome from principal Sr Maria Sarika AC, who greeted the excited students as they gathered in the school yard, dancing to lively music that set the tone for the festivities ahead. The happiness on their faces reflected the spirit of the day pure joy and unbridled enthusiasm.
The celebration commenced at the stroke, enveloped in a heartfelt prayer service led by the esteemed school faculty, culminating in a gracious welcome from teacher Manisha Saldanha.
In a beautiful gesture, vice-principal Sr Meena Fernandes AC presented a floral welcome to the school head girl and assistant head girl. Teacher Shwetha then unveiled the importance of Children’s Day, crafting a magical backdrop for a dazzling array of performances.
The morning’s pinnacle was a dazzling Bollywood dance medley, brought to life by the vivacious teachers, sparking a chorus of cheers and applause from their captivated students. These spirited educators enchanted the young ones with a delightful array of performances, weaving together clever jokes, an amusing skit, and vibrant dances. The grand finale unfolded as a breathtaking fusion dance, leaving all in a state of wonder.
In her inspiring address, vice-principal Sr Meena Fernandes A C encouraged the students to embrace their dreams and believe in their unique abilities.
She reminded them that Children’s Day is a celebration of their boundless potential and energy. “You are the future, the dreamers, and the creators of tomorrow,” she said, urging them to never stop dreaming big, stay curious, and strive to make the world a better place with their kindness and creativity. “We are proud of all that you are and all that you will become,” she added, assuring them that the school would continue to support them on their journey.
A special moment was dedicated to recognising the achievements of Krithi, a talented grade 3 student, who was honoured for winning a gold medal in the one-lap road race, a silver medal in the one-lap rink race, and a bronze medal in the 500m rink race at the 40th Karnataka State Roller Skating Championship selection trials. Krithi also earned a spot at the 62nd National Level Roller Skating Championship, to be held in Mysuru in December 2024.
The celebrations unfolded with captivating spot games, where eager students vied for an array of delightful prizes, including awards for the “Most Colourful Outfit” and special recognition for those whose birthdays closely aligned with that of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
SPL Joanna and ASPL Cleona Saldanha extended their heartfelt thanks to the teachers for orchestrating such a delightful and unforgettable programme, appreciating their efforts in making the day truly special.
The event gracefully drew to a close with a vote of thanks presented by the head girl and assistant head girl, as students departed with snacks in hand, radiant smiles, and hearts brimming with joy.
