Lucknow, Dec 12: With elections round the corner, Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi met the rector of Islamic seminary Nadwatul Uloom Maulana Rabey
Hasan Nadwi in Lucknow on Sunday.
Maulana Rabey Hasan Nadwi is also the president of All India Muslim Personal Law Board and thus has considerable influence among Muslims.
It is learnt the duo discussed problems of Muslims mainly reservation issue to the Muslims. No details were provided from either side. The move is seen as an attempt to woo Muslims by the Congress.
Later, Rahul addressed his youth Congress workers and urged them to strive with full might during the elections. He asked them to end the lobbying and work unitedly. He also met a group of female workers and some leaders of students union and assured them better deal.
Rahul will kick start his next round of campaign fro December 13. Interestingly he starts his campaign from Gunnaur, a stronghold of Mulayam Singh Yadav. He will be travelling to 19 assembly segments in this lap.
