Udupi: Bike-Lorry Accident Kills Student

Udupi, Dec 12: One person died and another was injured in an accident between a motorbike and a lorry that occurred near the bus station on NH 66 in Uppur on Monday December 12.

The deceased Yashvanth (23) and injured Nanjunda (24) were travelling towards Udupi when a lorry transporting fish crashed into their vehicle. Yashwanth died on the way to hospital. He was a student and Nanjunda works at a mobile shop.

Both were watching the cricket tourney in Piriyapattana till Sunday evening, but nobody knows where they were headed to on Monday. A case has been lodged at Brahmavar police station.

Sources said that a lot of accidents are occurring along the NH66 along the curved sections of the road due to the work that is going on to widen the highway.
