Supreme Court Permits Export of Endosulfan Formulation


New Delhi, Dec 13 (IANS): The Supreme Court Tuesday permitted the export of over 2,500 kl of endosulfan formulation, used for the manufacture of the pesticide, lying with different companies.

An apex court bench headed by Chief Justice S.H. Kapadia, while permitting the export, said the same would be channelised through public sector undertaking Hindustan Insecticides Ltd.

The court May 13 banned the production and sale of endosulfan in the country as it is blamed for causing ailments in humans.
