Kundapur, Nov 20: Seven passengers travelling in an Innova car were seriously injured when an insulator truck collided with the vehicle near Chandika Durga Parameshwari Temple on National Highway 66, close to Kumbhashi.

The injured passengers were admitted to Manipal Hospital. The truck driver, who was also injured, has been hospitalized.

The Innova, carrying seven passengers reportedly from Kerala on a trip, was traveling from Kundapur towards Udupi. Near the gateway of Chandika Durga Parameshwari Temple, the driver reportedly began reversing the car to enter the temple premises.

At the same time, an insulator truck registered in Mangaluru, carrying fish from Goa to Kerala, collided with the reversing Innova. The impact of the crash was severe, leaving the Innova completely mangled and causing the truck to overturn.

Kundapur traffic police visited the spot and conducted an inspection.

Don’t hurry to enter temple, mosque or churches. We have more than enough worship places in DK. Our politicians only will get benefit .

Here the mistake is from Innova car driver. He does not know the basic sense it is one way road. I pray god for speedy recovery of all injured passengers. I do not know the condition of car driver but action to be taken against him.

Reversing on highways is just inviting accidents Instead always take the U-turn because other drivers don't expect vehicles to reverse on highways

In Mangalore all one way road are used as two-way And if you object we have to hear abusive language. Every one wants to take a shortcut and this is the result.
