Mangaluru: Lourdes Central School celebrates annual day for classes 6 to 12

Mangaluru, Nov 22: The annual day celebration for classes 6 to 12 of Lourdes Central School was held with great enthusiasm on Friday, November 22, at the school grounds. The event revolved around the theme “LCS - Crafting Global Citizens.”

The program commenced with a welcome address by vice principal Belita Mascarenhas. The chief guest for the occasion was former principal Fr Robert D'Souza, while Dr John Baptist Saldanha, manager of Lourdes Central School, presided over the function.

Other dignitaries present included principal Fr Johnson L Sequeira, vice principals Belita Mascarenhas and Anitha Thomas, assistant parish priest of Bejai parish Fr Norman Mathias, Fr Vincent Sequeira, Bejai parish pastoral parishad vice president Ashok Pinto, secretary Cynthia Avitha Pinto, PTEC vice president Mohammed Riyaz, deputy head boy Adesh Rao, and deputy head girl Diya.

Principal Fr Johnson L Sequeira presented the annual report for the academic year 2024-25.

Students were felicitated for their outstanding achievements in academics and sports.

In his address, Fr Robert D'Souza remarked, “The annual day celebration is a memorable event in the lives of students. I congratulate the management of Lourdes Central School for organizing this celebration. LCS is not only providing quality education but also offering integral formation to its students. The commitment to imparting value-based education is what makes LCS a preferred choice for many parents.”

He added, “LCS ensures both quality education and safety for its students. The dedicated teaching and non-teaching staff are assets to this institution. A special credit goes to the parents for their continuous support, which has helped LCS build its reputation and gain recognition in the city.”

Fr D'Souza encouraged students to “respect their parents, honor the trust placed in them, work hard, study diligently, enjoy each moment, and prove themselves.”

Manager Dr John Baptist Saldanha shared his thoughts, stating, “The theme of this year's annual day, ‘Crafting Global Citizens,’ highlights the importance of being responsible members of the global community. At LCS, our motto is ‘Peace through Knowledge,’ as we believe that both knowledge and peace are what the world needs today. For the past 26 years, we have adhered to the CBSE mission, which is why we receive numerous applications for admission to our school. The management has worked tirelessly to ensure the integral growth and holistic development of every student.”

Vice principal Anitha Thomas delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the event.

The formal function was followed by a cultural extravaganza, showcasing vibrant performances by students from classes 6 to 12.
