Mangaluru: AIMIT, St Aloysius College inaugurates its 23rd national level IT fest ‘Epitome’

Mangaluru, Nov 23: AIMIT, St Aloysius College (Deemed to be University), Beeri, inaugurated its 23rd national level IT fest, Epitome 2024, on November 21. The event commenced with an inaugural ceremony graced by Tom Henrick, vice president – Development, EDGK, Mangaluru, as the chief guest, and Dr (Fr) Praveen Martis, vice chancellor of St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), as the guest of honour. The ceremony was presided over by Dr (Fr) Kiran Coth SJ, director of AIMIT.

The programme began with a prayer by the college choir, followed by a warm welcome from Dr Hemalatha, dean of IT departments. Student coordinators Vikitha, Prajwal, and Shivam were introduced, showcasing the active student involvement.

In his address, Henrick emphasized the transformative power of technology and innovation.

Dr (Fr) Kiran Coth SJ, in his presidential address, highlighted the essence of excellence encapsulated by the term Epitome and stressed the importance of participation and humility. Dr (Fr) Praveen Martis reflected on AIMIT's legacy and the growing relevance of AI, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Roshan Suvaris, staff coordinator, and a token of appreciation presented to the chief guest. The event witnessed participation from over 15 colleges, creating a vibrant and collaborative atmosphere.

Epitome 2024 showcased a variety of events that encouraged creativity, teamwork, and healthy competition, successfully reflecting the dedication and excellence of its organizers and participants
