Mangaluru: St Francis Xavier Church, Bejai celebrates Confraternity Sunday

Mangaluru, Nov 24: Confraternity Sunday was celebrated with great devotion and joy at St Francis Xavier Church, Bejai, Mangalore on Sunday, 24 November 2024. The celebration was integrated with the Solemnity of Jesus Christ, the King the Universe.

The celebration commenced with the Holy Eucharist. Rev. Fr Robert Dsouza, the Parish Priest of St Antony Church, Allipade was the main celebrant. He emphasized about Christ being our Lord and King now and forever. He also led the devotion of the Blessed Sacrament and prayed for the intentions of the parish community.

Later, the Blessed Sacrament was taken in procession in the surroundings of Bejai. All the faithful devoutly participated in the liturgical celebration, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and in the procession, singing hymns of praise and adoration to Jesus.

The ceremony concluded with the Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. Refreshments were served at the end to all who had gathered.

The parish priest, rev Dr John Baptist Saldanha and the parish clergy were part of the celebration.

Ashok Pinto- the vice president, Avitha Pinto- the secretary, Godwin Pinto- convener of 21 Commissions, and other members of the Parish Pastoral Parishad, ward leaders and representatives, leaders and members of various commissions and associations, namely, SFX choir, ICYM, YCS and Altar Servers took charge of the celebration and arrangements to make the day a successful one.
