Kasargod, Dec 15: A police team led by circle inspector of the town police station, Babu Peringayat, has arrested a youth, accused of stealing pictures of two young girls, and forwarding them along with mischievous reports which compromised with their self respect.

The accused has been identified as Muhammed Riaz (21), from Riaz House in Alampady in the district. He has been charged with stealing the photographs of two daughters of his neighbour, Abdul Salam Musliyar, from a marriage album, and forwarding them to several people through the internet.

Along with these photos, he had forwarded a derogatory report, asking the interested people to contact the girls in question on a particular telephone number. The number he provided belongs to Abdul Salam Musliyar.

After Salam started receiving umpteen calls over his phone, he had complained to the district superintendent of police. The policemen, who registered a case, succeeded in zeroing on the culprit with the help of experts from the cyber cell.

It is said that Muhammed Riaz had been nursing a grouse against Musliyar relating to some past incident, and that this enmity had made him to hatch a plan to undermine the self respect of his neighbour.
