Bangalore: Lokayukta Admits Complaint Against Chikmagalur MLA C T Ravi

Bangalore, Dec 16 (DHNS): The Special Lokayukta Court on Thursday admitted a private complaint filed against Chikmagalur MLA CT Ravi accusing him of obtaining civic amenity (CA) sites and housing plots in violation of rules.

Ravi’s wife Pallavi Ravi is also one of the accused in the complaint. The Lokayukta Court will be pronouncing orders in the case on December 17.

The complainant, Chikmagalur Councillor R Devi Prasad has alleged that three civic amenity sites in Chikmagalur were allotted to Anjaneya Education Society in 2007, of which Pallavi Ravi was the president and her sister Tejaswini was the general secretary. The complaint alleges that the society which was formed 17 years ago had a completely different set of office-bearers and had no activity recorded during those 17 years, till the society filed an application for that site for starting a school.

Prasad alleges that Ravi and others fabricated and forged documents pertaining to the society, so they could usurp the CA sites and make a private profit.

He adds that Sudarshan, Tejaswini’s husband, gave a sworn statement saying that the society is collecting tuition fees and paying salaries, but no record of a school exists with the Department of Education.

In another instance, C T Ravi is accused of obtaining two sites from Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) in Chikmagalur.

Apart from lying about not owning any other property, the complaint accuses KHB of executing sale deeds in the name of Ravi’s wife Pallavi, even though they had made delayed payments on the site and not paid the interest on it. The sites were also allotted in gross violation of rules, as rules demand that sites be allocated by drawing lots. Hence, KHB overlooked the already pending applications for the allotment, the complaint says.

Apart from Ravi and his wife Pallavi, the complaint lists his sister-in-law Tejaswini and her husband Sudarshan, Pavana Anoop, Revathi Dharmapal, K N Puneet, Renuka Ramakrishna, Bhagya Eregowda, Assistant Executive Engineer of KHB Siddalinga Swamy and Commissioner of KHB Laxminarayana as the accused.
