Mangaluru Nov 28: The two-day Bahusamskruthi Utsava will be held at Town Hall on December 3 and 4. The event is being jointly organized by the Kannada and culture department, along with the Tulu, Beary, Konkani, Arebashe, Kodava, and Yakshagana academies, in association with the district administrations of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Kodagu districts, as part of the Karnataka Suvarna Sambhrama celebrations.
The program will be inaugurated by chief minister Siddaramaiah in the presence of deputy chief minister D K Shivakumar, speaker U T Khader, chief minister’s legal advisor AS Ponnanna, district in-charge minister Dinesh Gundu Rao, ministers Laxmi Hebbalkar, N S Bosaraju, and Shivaraj S Thangadagi, opposition leader R Ashoka, MP Capt Brijesh Chowta, Kota Srinivas Poojary, Yaduveer Chamaraj Wadiyar, and MLAs Vedavyas Kamath, Dr Bharath Y Shetty, Umanath Kotian, Harish Poonja, Rajesh Naik, Bhagirathi Murulya, Sunil Kumar, and other dignitaries.
A colorful procession will mark the beginning of the Utsava, to be inaugurated by speaker U T Khader on December 3 at Jyothi Ambedkar Circle. The formal inauguration will follow at Town Hall by chief minister Siddaramaiah.
Throughout the two days, the Bahusamskruthi Utsava will feature cultural performances by various academies, exhibitions, a book fair, a student convention, and more. Additionally, a special session by writer and thinker Dr Purushottam Bilimale will be held on December 3.
Additional deputy commissioner Santhosh Kumar, president of the Tulu Sahitya Academy Tharnath Gatty Kapikad, and president of the Karnataka Yakshagana Academy Dr Thallur Shivarama Shetty will also take part in the event.
