A convoy of five trucks will pass through the streets of Mira – Bhayandar with a Santa chariot, live crib, carol singing contingent, pom-pom dancers, and a themed depiction. Nearly 500 volunteers will support the carnival with specially branded T-shirts promoting the event.  The local cable / TV channel will telecast the event live besides live streaming on the web.

The chief objective of the carnival are to create awareness about the declining average female ratio in the country, to spread the message of Christmas this year to support global issues, to breed and create an atmosphere of equality in society where gender discrimination is prevalent, to create awareness about the reducing gender ratio and the issues one could face if this is not stopped.

Congratulation Mira Road Parish Priest n Parishioners. When I was staying in Mira Road Parish way back in 1988. There used to be 20 to 25 Catholic attending mass that too in a Flat. Fr. Michael Kamath found a place to build church n a small chapell was built. Than came the school n new church building. Now the Catholics over there may be 25,000. I left for Kuwait in 1992. Till then I was active with Fr. Michael. God bless him give him good health. I wish all the best to Mira Road Parish. Good work keep it up.

Christmas with a mission! If Christ came to the world with a mission - to save the humanity - then we Christians should do in all our reach to take that message to our sisters and brothers and Christmas is the right time to do so. I think the Organizer of the ‘Christmas Carol carnival – 2011’ have ed an apt theme to educate the Mumbai citizens and others to be aware of the importance of saving the girl child. In that matter all life is sacred and need to be protected. Fr Dominic Vas is a very good organizer we congratulate him and wish him and his team together with all the volunteers all best.
