St Agnes College NSS organizes health awareness, check-up camp at govt high school, Manchi

Mangaluru, Nov 30: St Agnes College, as part of its annual special NSS camp, organized a health awareness and check-up camp at Government High School, Manchi, Kolnadu on November 28. The programme was inaugurated by Vijayalaxmi Kateel, teacher at Government High School Manchi, in the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Lion Shivashankar Rao of the Lions Club, Manchi, along with Lions Ram Prasad Rai, secretary of Lions Club Manchi.

In her address, Vijayalaxmi emphasized the significance of holistic health and learning from nature. Lion Shivashankar Rao highlighted the importance of happiness and values in leading a healthy life. The programme featured an insightful session on puberty and menstrual health conducted by Dr Nimra Ameena and Dr Safrin Majeed, who discussed critical topics such as the safe disposal of sanitary pads and alternative menstrual hygiene options.

The programme saw enthusiastic participation from Susheela, headmistress of GHS Manchi, teachers, students, NSS Volunteers and other dignitaries, including Dr Udaya Kumar B and Preetha Tauro (NSS programme officers) and K M Chethana (assistant NSS programme officer). The programme was compered by Kashmea, with Pradeeksha delivering the welcome address and Keerthana proposing the vote of thanks.
