Mamata Banerjee's Mother Passes Away

Kolkata, Dec 17 (IANS): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's mother Gayatri Devi passed away at a hospital here Saturday morning following an illness.

Gayatri Devi She was 81, and was undergoing treatment for breathing and renal problems.

"The chief minister's mother passed away around 8.30 a.m. at SSKM Hospital," Trinamool Congress legislator Arup Biswas told IANS.

She was admitted in the hospital Nov 25.
