Mangalore: Dr B M Hegde Inaugurates Bearys Global Infotech

Mangalore, Dec 18: Bearys Global Infotech Limited (BGITL) was launched at Marz Chambers, Falnir here on Sunday December 18.

Dr B M Hegde, former vice-chancellor of Mahe University, inaugurated the project and lauded the efforts of the Beary Group in starting IT solutions project in coastal Karnataka and said that it would create more job opportunities to people in the region.

He also said that though IT industry has brought revolution in the job sector, it has also created new illnesses. "The American IT industry has impacted Indians so much that Indian culture is losing its prominence," he added.

Addressing the gathering, Altaf Mulla, director, RFID product management, Motorola, said that IT industry, which is already developing well in this part of the region, is set to change the standard of living of the people in the near future.

"Mangaloreans are innovative in nature and are good at adapting effectively to new sectors in the IT business," he said, and added, "When a community wants to build a new world through IT production, it needs people with different skills. With the right kind of resources, it is possible to make great advancement in IT. Mangalore is the right place to find talents in education and IT."

He also said that the new venture from the Bearys Group will help in developing local projects as well as be a boon to private sectors.

M E Srinivasan, economic advisor, ministry of national economy, Sultanate of Oman, delivered the keynote address, and said that the new venture by Bearys Group is expected to provide job opportunities for at least 50 percent of the local population.

Bearys Group chairman S M Beary delivered introductory remarks and said that it is not possible to open any business without experience. "Advancement in IT has enhanced intellectual knowledge, and today the entire world is based on technology," he said, and expressed his desire to spread literacy among each and every individual and child through IT.

BGITL CEO Praveen Kalbavi welcomed the gathering. Prof Murali of Bearys College compered and Nazeer Mohideen, trustee, proposed the vote of thanks.

    It's a great moment especially for Mangaloreans to learn that Bearys group has made its dent in IT sector.Wish the group will make leaps and bounds in Technology sector in the years to come.
