Mangalore: Prison Ministry of India Celebrates Christmas with Sub-Jail Inmates

Mangalore, Dec 19: District unit of Prison Ministry India (PMI), which is a national voluntary organization working for the release, renewal and rehabilitation of prisoners as well as women in distress celebrated Christmas with the inmates of Mangalore sub-jail here on Monday December 19.

Bishop of Mangalore Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza in his presidential address delivered the Christmas message of peace and brotherhood.

He said that Christ was born not only to a particular community rather he has come to alleviate the pain and to give joy and peace to all. 

Principal and academic head of the Yenepoya School, Mangalore C K Manjunath urged the inmates to make use of opportunities provided to them and enrich their life by communicating with others the joys and sorrows of their life.

He further said that every problem in life has solution and one should always take the right path to solve it.

Students of Sacred Heart High School, Kulshekar entertained the inmates with a colorful dance and skit.

Co-ordinator of PMI Fr Walter D’Souza OCD welcomed the gathering and Sr Dafney proposed vote of thanks, she appreciated the contributions of Leslie D’Costa.

Jane Sequeira compered the program where in Superintendent of Mangalore Prison P S Ambekar and other Jail authorities were present.
