Mangalore: Dual Celebration of Annual Day and Christmas at Spandana Trust

Mangalore, Dec 21: The members of Spandana Trust Infant Mary’s convent Jeppu celebrated their annual day along with joyful Christmas celebration on Sunday December 18.

The celebration commenced at 4 pm. The guests, the president of the function Sr Mary Emma Joseph, superior Infant Mary’s convent, the chief guest George D’Souza, superintendent of excise of Dakshina Kannada, the guest of honour Fr Eric Crasta, principal St Joseph College Jeppu, Usha Naik, president of Munnade federation, were welcomed with the band. Around 3,000 people were present of all denominations.

Fr Eric Crasta principal of St Joseph College Jeppu was the guest of honour.  He delivered the Christmas message and said, Christ came to the world to be the more human, mingled with all kind of people without minding the barriers; He lived poor and died poor.  He was the person, for whom he shared divine love, he explained.
 
George Pinto superintendent of excise Dakshina Kannada, said that the Spandana Trust is doing yeoman service in the field of social work and building the humanity to build integrity among the people and make a person more human.  He also appreciated the work of the Trust in educating the less fortunate and most needy people. 

Sr Mary Emma Joseph the President of the function, highlighted in her speech that Christmas is the feast of sharing and the main sharing was done by God himself by giving his own son to the mankind.  She also said that the same sharing is done in way of meeting the needs of the people by the Spandana Trust.  She also congratulated the administrator and the staff of the Trust. 

Sr Evangeline, administrator of the Trust welcomed the gathering, Theertha K S, social worker read out the activity report of the Trust.  Victor Vas, Co-ordinator of the Trust proposed the Vote of thanks.  Shantha and Celine were the master of ceremonies. All the staff of the Trust worked hand in hand for the success of the programme.
