Bantwal, Dec 15: An electricity pole was uprooted on Saturday afternoon at Mani Palke due to the negligence of a tipper truck driver employed by KNR Company, which is constructing the B C Road-Addahole highway.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.

The mishap occurred when the driver failed to notice an overhead electrical wire while lifting the movable bucket at the rear of the truck. The bucket got entangled with the wire, pulling down the electricity pole. Thankfully, no sparks were generated, averting a potential fire. The area, surrounded by grass and forest, could have posed a significant risk to the driver and nearby residents had a fire broken out.

Locals expressed their anger at the negligence of the tipper truck driver, calling for stricter adherence to safety protocols.
