Mangaluru: Srinivas University hosts Fresher’s Day program

Mangaluru, Dec 15: The Institute of Management and Commerce, Department of Social Sciences and Humanities, Srinivas University, organized a Fresher’s Day on December 11, to welcome newly admitted first-year MSW (Master of Social Work) students. The event aimed to foster a sense of belonging and enthusiasm as students embark on their academic journey.

The session was graced by Dr Venkatesh S Amin, dean of the Institute of Management and Commerce. Other dignitaries included Prof Joyson, head of the department; Prof Dr Laveena D Mello; associate professor Dr Vidya; and Prof Ranjith Bhat. Dr Venkatesh S Amin delivered a motivational speech to the students, while Prof Joyson and Dr Laveena D Mello shared insights on student welfare.

The program began with a soulful prayer led by Nidhi, setting a positive tone for the day. The event was compered seamlessly by Athira Shaji and Nikita, ensuring a smooth flow of activities. A warm welcome address was delivered by  Nasir, greeting the dignitaries, faculty, and students.

The cultural segment featured vibrant singing and dance performances, adding to the celebratory atmosphere. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Ms Athira Shaji, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, organizers, and students for their contributions to the program's success.

The Fresher’s Day created an atmosphere of unity and enthusiasm, providing students with a memorable welcome and motivating them for the academic challenges ahead.
