Mangaluru, Dec 16: St Agnes School CBSE, Bendore, formerly known as St Agnes English Primary School, is proud to announce the celebration of its diamond jubilee, marking 60 glorious years of excellence in education, faith, and service to the community.
This significant milestone reflects the institution's remarkable journey from its humble beginnings to becoming a premier CBSE school, setting a benchmark in holistic education.
In 1914, Mother Aloysia founded St Agnes with a secondary english medium school and boarding facilities in Bendore. In 1964, Sr M Virgilia AC transitioned the Primary School to English Medium, responding to parental requests. Officially recognized in 1965, the school thrived under the Apostolic Carmel Sisters. A key milestone was the construction of a two-storied block in 1998 under Sr. Juliana Mathias AC's leadership. St Agnes English Primary School transitioned into St Agnes School CBSE in the year 2016, embracing modern educational standards while preserving its rich heritage and values. This diamond jubilee celebrates 60 years of empowering students, shaping character, and building a brighter future for generations to come.
The diamond jubilee celebrations will take place on Wednesday, December 18, featuring the following events:
1. Holy Eucharist celebration
Time: 8:30 AM
Venue: St Sebastian Church, Bendore
Main Celebrant: Most rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore
2. Grand jubilee programme
Time: 3:45 PM
Venue: St Agnes Special School Grounds, Bendore
The event will showcase cultural performances, a reflection on the school's inspiring journey, and a tribute to its legacy of nurturing young minds and fostering excellence.
The diamond jubilee celebrations of St Agnes School (CBSE), will be graced by Sr Dr Maria Roopa AC, joint secretary of St Agnes Institutions, as the president, and Mathew C Ninan, MA, MEd., director of Little Rock Indian School, Brahmavar, as the chief guest. Guests of honor include Fr Walter D'Souza, parish priest of St Sebastian Church, Bendore; Venkatesh S Patgar, DDPI (Admin), Dakshina Kannada; Naveen D'Souza, corporator of Bendore ward, Mangaluru City Corporation; and HR Eshwara, block education officer, Mangaluru South.
