Udupi: NRI Forum Karnataka Bahrain to be inaugurated on Jan 10

Udupi, Dec 16: The newly established and Karnataka government-registered entity, NRI Forum Karnataka - Bahrain (NFKB), will be inaugurated at Indian Club Ground of Manama on January 10.

The event will also mark the oath-taking ceremony of the new NFKB committee and feature cultural celebrations with participation from notable dignitaries from Karnataka and Bahrain.

Raj Kumar, president, NRI Forum Karnataka Bahrain, addressing media in the press meet held on December 16, said, “The event will begin at 5.30 pm. A cultural programme will be held after the formal event. The main aim of the forum is to protect the Kannadigas in Bahrain. NFKB is dedicated to fostering cultural and social connections among the people of Karnataka residing in Bahrain. The forum aims to create meaningful platforms for engagement and networking among Kannadigas in Bahrain while working towards the welfare of the 25,000-strong Kannada-speaking community in the region. To achieve its objectives, NFKB collaborates with the Karnataka government, the Indian Embassy, and other organizations to promote the interests of Kannadigas abroad.”

The event will witness the presence of several prominent personalities, including, speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly U T Khader, minister of culture Shivaraj Thangadagi, Member of Parliament Kota Srinivas Poojary, vice chairperson of Karnataka NRI Forum Arathi Krishna, president of SCDCC Bank, Mangaluru Dr Rajendra Kumar, president of Mysore Mercantile Company Dr H S Shetty, president of Nidhi Nirmana Mangaluru Prashanth Poojari, prominent Kannada figures, professionals, and families will also be in attendance.

The event is expected to attract over 2,000 participants.

General secretary Roshan Lewis, Jaya Shetty, Uday Shetty and Divakar Sanil, were present in the press conference.
