Mangalore: 12 Colleges Converge for 'Sangat Suvallo' Konkani Fest at SAC

Mangalore, Dec 22: A mega event was organized by the Konkani association of St Aloysius College recently. As many as 12 colleges from Mangalore and Udupi participated in this cultural fest.

Roy Castelino, an eminent personality in Mandd Sobhann was the chief guest for the occasion. He expressed his happiness on hearing students speaking correct Konkani. In his message he urged the students to promote Konkani language not only through cultural programmes but also through writing and speaking.

The programme began with the burning of incense in a pot, signifying that the fragrance of Konkani language may spread throughout.

Then the much awaited cultural programmes began, with wonderful performances from all the participants of different colleges. The variety programmes ranged from cultural dances, songs and skits displaying the richness of Konkani culture.

There was a panel of six judges to judge the performances. The overall championship shield was bagged by St Agnes degree college. Dr Edward Nazareth was the chief guest for the valedictory function.
