Bantwal, Dec 18: The Karavali Kalotsava 2024-25 and Multicultural Celebration will be held from December 20 to January 26 at the Golden Park Grounds in B C Road. The event is being jointly organized by the Department of Kannada and Culture, Bengaluru, Chinnara Loka Mokeda Kalavider Seva Trust (Regd), and Chinnara Loka Sevabandhu (Regd), Bantwal, as announced by Karavali Kalotsava president Sudarshan Jain.
Speaking at a press conference held at the Press Club in B C Road, Jain stated that the event will feature a series of cultural programs under the theme "Karavali Kalotsava 2024-25 and Multicultural Celebration," including Chinnara Utsava (children’s festival), a drama festival, a state-level Filki dance competition, district-level Singari Mela (Chende competition), folk dances, Bharatanatyam, Yakshagana, and more.
Chinnara Loka, a registered organization, operates not just in Bantwal taluk but also in various locations across the district, offering training to young children under the guidance of experienced professionals in cultural and artistic fields.
The organization has been conducting the Karavali Kalotsava annually to provide a platform for children to showcase their talents, foster leadership skills, and inspire cultural and educational growth among young minds.
On January 20, a vibrant folk procession with around 250 artists, including teams from within and outside the state, will commence from the Annapoorneshwari Kala Mantapa in B C Road and proceed to the Golden Park Grounds, showcasing diverse performances along the way.
The inaugural ceremony will take place at 6:30 pm, featuring the inauguration of Keerthishesha Shri Raghu Sapalya Mogarnadu Kala Vedike, the late Farooq Gudina Badi Hall, and the amusement park, along with various stalls. The Udaya Chowta Sadhana Award and Chinnara Saurabha State Award will be presented.
Following this, at 7:00 pm, cultural programs will include "Rasamanjari," performed by Zee Kannada Sa Re Ga Ma Pa fame Amith Kumar, Samanvi Rai, Anvith Kodagu, and the young artists of Chinnara Loka. The evening will also feature "Pili Nalike," a performance by M Sai Manvith Kottary Munnooru and team, as well as students of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat Higher Primary School, Narikombu.
Daily cultural and entertainment programs, along with sessions, will continue from December 21 to January 5.
At the press conference, Mohan Das Kottary, president of Chinnara Loka Sevabandhu, provided detailed insights into the organization’s longstanding service and journey.
Present at the event were reception committee president Taranath Kottary, vice president Fouzhiya, honorary advisor Ashok Shetty Sarapadi, and directors Ibrahim Kailar.
