Bengaluru, Dec 18: Renowned Kannada actor Dr Shivarajkumar, popularly known as Shivanna, has left for the United States to undergo a critical surgery. The actor, famously known as Karunada Chakravarthy, will undergo the procedure in Miami on December 24, 2024. This follows a series of treatments he's already received in the US for an auto-immune disease, with this surgery being necessary for further recovery.

Before his departure, Shivanna wrapped up his professional commitments, reflecting his dedication to his work. He plans to rest and recover in the US for a month or two before returning to India.

The Kannada film industry and fans have rallied around Shivanna, offering heartfelt wishes for his speedy recovery. Fellow actor Sudeep visited him ahead of the surgery, showing solidarity. Fans, too, have flooded social media with support, dismissing rumours about cancer and instead focusing on positive thoughts for his health.
