Mangaluru, Dec 20: St. Aloysius Gonzaga School hosted its 13th Annual Day celebration for students of classes VII to XII in the school campus on Friday, December 20. The event was marked by inspiring speeches, awards, and a vibrant cultural programme.
Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan, who was the chief guest, expressed his honour at being part of the celebration. He said, "It is an honour to be here for the Annual Day celebration of St Aloysius Gonzaga. This institution has a rich history, with alumni scattered across the world. School days are always memorable. As students, you are the focus of attention, with everyone working to serve and guide you. But once you graduate, you will be the ones serving others."
He also stressed the importance of cleanliness and urged everyone to take a pledge to keep their surroundings clean and free from litter.
Fr Balraj R. S J, secretary and treasurer of the Mangalore Jesuit Educational Society, presided over the event.
During the celebrations, Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan was felicitated by the school management for his support. Fr Melwyn Anil Lobo, principal of St Aloysius Gonzaga School, presented the annual report, showcasing the school’s achievements and progress over the year.
The ceremony also recognised young achievers in academics and sports, honouring their outstanding contributions.
The event was attended by vice-principal Aparna Suresh, coordinator Vidya Ester, PTA vice-president Reena Dominic Noronha, head boy Joel Abhilash, and head girl Suman Viola Saldanha. Vice-Principal Laurel D'Souza welcomed the gathering, and coordinator Sandhya Manoj proposed the vote of thanks.
Following the formal function, a cultural programme added to the festive atmosphere, showcasing the talents of the students.
